Manila as a tour and holiday destination
Manila, Philippines known for Manila Bay and its beautiful sunset is located in Southeast Asia. The archipelago's capital offers holidaymakers a unique Asian experience because of its Spanish and American influences integrated in the country's oriental traditions.
Things to do in Manila
A vibrant city, Manila has a number of museums and galleries as well as old churches located right in its heart. Intramuros -the walled city built during early Spanish times is one of the capital's attractions. Churches like San Agustin and the Manila Cathedral are just a few of the places one can go to while in the city. While Manila's nightlife had its heyday in the 70s, there are still a number of bars and restaurants worth visiting while you're in the Asian city. Cities like the financial district Makati also offers a lively nightlife scene right on Burgos and Jupiter. If you travel to Manila for its nightlife and don't want to experience the traffic while going to any of the major cities in the metro, going to Adriatico Street - a major nightlife destination in the old city is a bright idea.
Best time to visit Manila
Going to Manila during the summertime -from March to May- is a good way for you to enjoy the capital's sights and sounds but one must note that the summer heat goes up to 36 degrees C during this time of the year. However, if you are just passing through Manila and plan to go to the beautiful Philippine countryside instead, then touching down at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport will not be as inconvenient weather wise. Another great time of the year to spend a holiday in Manila and the rest of the Philippines is from September to February when the weather is a lot cooler than usual. While Manila's festivals can be fun, it is better for the traveler to visit Baguio City -a city just four hours away from the capital- on February to join in the Panabenga (Flower Festival). Other festivities in the country that are quite popular include the Ati-Atihan Festival in Aklan where you can see a tribal parade much like a tribal Mardi Gras in the southern part of the country.
