Taman Negara is a national park that was first called as the King George V National Park. After Independence Day, it was renamed as Taman. It is located at the Titiwangsa Mountains in the middle of Malaysia peninsula. It is about 250 kilometers from Kuala Lumpur and 580 kilometers from Singapore. It has a total area of 4,343 square kilometers and is known as the world's oldest tropical rainforest. Its tropical and humid environment has an average temperature of 86 ˚F (30˚C).
The park was developed as an ecotourism destination for visitors from all over the world. It houses a number of rare mammals such as the great Argus, Malayan Gaur, Red Junglefowl, Malayan Tiger, Crab-eating macaque and Sumatran Rhinoceros. Other activities that can be done in the area are mountain climbing, rock climbing, fishing, camping, bird watching, jungle trekking, and enjoying the view of the Tahan River that preserves the Malaysian mahseer (a type of game fish).
There are actually 30 spectacular sites that you can visit. They are not far from each other. You can reach them by jungle trekking or by boat. Some of the must see in Taman Negara are the Canopy walk (1.2Km), Gua Telinga (2.6Km), Bukit teresek (1.7Km), and Lata Berhoh (8.5Km).
