When they blow, they bring along heavy storms and high winds. Therefore, if you are planning to visit the island, you should note that avoid visiting Pulau Tioman during this time. This is especially the case for tourists who wish to travel to the east coast of the Malaysian peninsular. Notably, during this time, most of the island's resorts are usually closed. The Southwest Monsoon usually blows from July up to September. However, this monsoon's effects are less pronounced. This is because the monsoon winds tend to hit the Malaysia peninsula's western shores first.
