Kuching is the most populous city on the East Malaysian state of Sarawak, Malaysia. This city has some amazing attractions you will want to check out while you're there. That includes the Sarawak Museum, which exhibits collections on the natural history of Sarawak. Built in 1891, it is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the area and is not only beautiful, but rich in history.
The Kuching Waterfront is another place of interest in the area, approximately 1 kilometer long and stretching from the main hotel to the downtown area. Here you can find an observation tower, various food stalls, restaurants and benches, as well as magnificent views of The Astana, Fort Margherita, and the New Sarawak State Legislative Assembly Building. With a tropical rainforest climate, the best time to visit is during the summer months, anytime between June and September is ideal. Depending on what you plan on doing while you're there, this is the most ideal weather for most activities. The month of January is the wettest month of the year, with the monsoon months between November and February. The dry season starts from June until August or September, which is the best time to visit if you want to avoid rain. Even during the dry season, there is still a fair amount of rainfall, so come prepared.
There are several major bus lines available for transportation, if you want to get around in the city. There is also water transportation available, because Kuching has connections to other urban centers and settlements.
