Solo is a city in Central Java, Indonesia, with a population of only around 520,000 people. This city is very quaint and small, but there is still plenty to do. There is great shopping available as well as many sporting events you can take in. With a small airport and just a few options for transportation, the area is quite small but is still a joy to visit. There are some beautiful dances associated with the area, as the center of royal Japanese dances. These dances are characterized by slow, constrained and refined movements. Younger children may not have as much fun here as the older kids, but it's great if you want to get away with your loved one on a romantic outing. You could see The Wayang Orang performing at the Gedung Wayang Orang, or take in one of the other amazing attractions.
Best time to visit Solo
The climate is always quite mild, and the area features a tropical monsoon climate, so there is a lot of rainfall. The wettest months are December, January and February, so if you want to avoid a lot of run, you should travel during the summer months, between May and August for the most ideal weather conditions. The Solo Batik Carnival is held annually and is one of the most popular tourist attractions.
