For three weeks every January, the city hosts a huge arts festival, which attracts half a million visitors. Other events include St. Patrick's Day celebrations in March and a sand sculpting competition in November. Sydney is one of the world's great cities and in addition to its many attractions, makes the ideal gateway for exploring the land down under.
