Kunming, “The City of Eternal Spring,” is the capital of the province of Yunnan. The city is rather old. In fact, it is over 2400 years and has special historical significance in that it was once the gateway to the famous Silk Road.
Kunming serves as the destination for its snowballing tourism with so many places of interest spread all around the city.
Kunming is also well known for its beautiful and peculiar, breathtaking and unique natural landscape. Among these dramatic sites, Yunnan Stone Forest , which is about 120 kilometers (75 miles) from Kunming city is known best by the tourists. These magnificent stone masterpieces, various strange and steep intricate formations, and countless labyrinthine vistas make Stone Forest (Shi Lin in Chinese) worthy of the fame as the 'First Wonder of the World'. And there goes a local saying: 'It is a waste of time without being in the Stone Forest while visiting Kunming'
Kunming is the focal point of Yunnan minority culture. Some 20 ethnic minorities such as Yi, Bai, Miao, Dai, Hani and more inhabit the region. Each group has its own featured festivals such as the Torch festival of Yi people, the Golden Temple Fair and so on. Kunming is also renowned for many delicious local dishes; the most famous ones are Across Bridge Rice Noodle and Xuanwei Ham. You can enjoy them both at local famous restaurants or the night market. In the night markets you will find many pubs, bars and cafes that serve good quality meals.

Day 1
ARRIVE KUNMING WUJIABA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
Upon arrival at Kunming Wujiaba International Airport you will be met and greet by our representative.
Kunming, the ancient cultural and historical city is also the capital of Yunnan province. Situated 1,894 meters above sea level with an annual temperature of 10-15’C, it is also known as “The City of Perpetual Spring”.
Proceed to a sightseeing tour which includes visit to Twin Pagodas and the Golden Square. The Twin Pagodas is also known as West and East Temple Pagodas and it was constructed 11 centuries ago. Take a photo stop at the Golded Square before going for dinner and check in.
Day 2
KUNMING - JIUXIANG - KUNMING (B)
After breakfast, proceed to picturesque Jiuxiang. Jiuxiang is known as the "Museum of Karsts Caves", which boasts the largest caves in scale and number with about a hundred karsts caves. In the cave, go on a boat ride to enjoy the view.
The caves in Jiuxiang fall into 4 cave clusters: Sanjiao Cave, Dashang Cave, Diehong Cave and Dasha Dam Cave.
After the tour, return to Kunming by coach.
Day 3
KUNMING - STONE FOREST - KUNMING (B)
After breakfast, proceed to Stone Forest which is one of China’s most remarkable natural phenomena.
As you are walking through the Stone Forest, be amazed at the natural stone masterpieces bewitched by the intricate formations. The magnificent, strange and steep landscape creates countless labyrinthine vistas, all of which feature stones in various formations.
Stone Forest is a typical example of karsts topography. Approximately 270 million years ago the region was a vast expanse of sea and over time, the earth movements caused a retreat of the waters and the rise of the limestone landscape. Due to constant erosion by the elements, the area finally developed into the present-day Stone Forest.
En route, we stop by “ Colorsl of Yunan ” to view local Yunnan minority handicraft.
Day 4
KUNMING (B)
After breakfast we will explore Kunming. Proceed to Western Hill and Dragon Gate and enjoy the graceful scenery of Dian Chi. Many people consider that touching the center of the arch of the Dragon Gate will bring good luck. Have your pictures taken as a memory of visiting the place.
We continue to Yuantong Buddhist Temple which has a history of more than 1,200 years. Yuantong Temple is the grandest as well as the most important Buddhist temple in Yunnan Province.
Followed by Green Lake Park, known as Pavilion of Sea, which is one of the most picturesque parks in downtown Kunming. During winter huge flocks of red-beaked gulls migrate here from Siberia.
Then proceed to Da Guan Pavilion, which is best known for the 180-word couplet written by Sun Ran.
Later, enjoy some shopping at Luo Xi Wan Market.
Day 5
DEPART KUNMING (B)
After breakfast, enjoy your last minutes shopping at Flower Market before departure to airport for your flight back home.
