Taman Negara offers a host of activities for everyone - from those who need a bit of adrenalin rush and some physical exertion to those who are intent to just enjoy what nature has to offer. You wont be disappointed.

Taman Negara is considered to be one of the best bird watching spots and local species include Drongos, and the Pied Hornbills. Butterflies are relatively abundant, but collecting them is forbidden. So if you are a nature enthusiast come ready with your camera and sketch-pads if you are artistically inclined. Besides exotic birds there are loads of brilliantly gorgeous wild orchids in this National Park.

Take a walk in the dark jungle which can be quite scary, as many unfamiliar sounds can be heard. Have a canopy walk and then trek the jungle where the guide will show you plants like Tongkat Ali (the extract is our answer to viagra), species of fungi, rattan, liana trees and others, and their commercial and medical values. You will have the opportunity to observe a settlement of Orang Asli or Aborigines and learn from them - how to produce fire using Meranti wood and rattan, how to kill birds or other creatures by poisonous ‘sumpit’, and how to get safe drinking water from the liana trees.

For the more adventurous there are a number of outcrops of limestone to test your skills and some of the outcrops also contain caves for those visitors interested in cave exploration. Ancient drawings are also to be found on some of the cave walls. Popular caves include Gua Telinga and Gua Duan Menari. Gua means cave in Malay.

There are allegedly more than 200 species of fish in Taman Negara and a good proportion of them belong to the carp family. Toman is Malay for snakeheads, these fish grow to lengths of about 3 feet and make good catches. Giant catfish, sebarau, tengas and daun are there also for the catching.

Taman Negara provides good opportunities for water rafting for those bent on experiencing the thrills of negotiating the Sungei Tembeling's rapids.

All in all it will be an unforgettable holiday experience!
