Singapore is a small country by anyone's measure. The main island is a mere 26 miles from east to west and 14 miles north to south. Even though it is small the city planners have done an excellent job by allocating space for some beautiful parks.

Merlion Park
Merlion Park would be the first park we visited and is located next to Marina Bay on the city's edge. It is named for Singapore's tourism symbol the Merlion, half fish, half lion, and contains a statue of the Merlion overlooking Marina Bay.

Jurong Bird Park
The new Bird Discovery Centre does not only make learning fun; there will always be something new to surprise all visitors too!
To enliven the learning process, the Bird Discovery Centre also features an interactive classroom! It serves as an enrichment asset for students to heighten their knowledge and interest on the avian world. This will all be done in a fun and interactive way through educational tours, camps and classes. So come down soon to learn about interesting avian facts at the Bird Discovery Centre in the Jurong Bird Park!

Garden by the Bay
Spanning 101 hectares, and just a five-minute walk from the downtown Marina Bay area, this superpark is home to over a quarter of a million rare plants. The entire park comprises three gardens; Bay South, Bay East and Bay Central. From the waterfront promenade, one can enjoy an amazing view of the Marina Bay financial district skyline. Bay South — the largest waterfront garden — is where you’ll find the futuristic-looking Supertrees, vertical gardens measuring up to 16 storeys that add a surprising and surreal feel to the landscape. Take a walk on the suspended walkway between the supertrees or hitch a ride to the bar on top of the tallest supertree for a bird’s eye view of the entire gardens. The Supertrees are not just aesthetic features; they also collect rainwater, generate solar power and act as venting ducts for the park’s conservatory.

Underwater World Singapore
Situated on Sentosa Island of Singapore, is a unique and well-known oceanarium showcasing some 2500 marine life from 250 species from around the regions. At Underwater World Singapore, a 'voyage to the bottom of the sea' begins at the water’s edge, with shallow rock turtle and ray pools. Be greeted next by brightly colored corals and exotic ocean dwellers (including moray eels, sea dragons and jelly fishes) before you embark on a spectacular underwater journey through our 83-metre-long moving travelator with a tunnel housing the majestic rays, fearsome sharks, great shoals of other fishes and a host of other creatures that inhabit the ocean depths. Also look out for the latest themed exhibit in our changing exhibit hall on the first level. The current theme is the "Living Fossils" exhibiting various unique and amazing marine and freshwater creatures, whose ancestors appeared more than a few hundreds of millions years ago!
